Coconut whipped cream is the vegan whipped cream we have all been craving for! You will love its fluffy light texture and how well it pairs with so many dishes. From warm pies to ice cream, crepes, cakes. Even on an iced late or on hot cocoa! The possibilities are endless!
I've been wanting to make vegan whipped cream for quite a while. I can have a bit of a sweet tooth sometimes and I love the idea of having sweets on sweets. But for the longest time, I looked for the perfect vegan whipped cream and had no luck.
I tried a few different brands and I found some made from soy, rice, coconut, etc. But I didn't really love any of them. They were either too sweet, too thin, too plain. So, to avoid the constant disappointment, I decided to make my own instead of buying it.
I had seen recipes on the internet and figured it would be pretty easy to come up with the recipe that would make me happy every single time. I tried different ones and soon realised that coconut whipped cream was the one and only.
The texture and flavour of coconut vegan whipped is just perfect. We get a light, fluffy and slightly sweet whipped cream that feels like clouds in your mouth. And the recipe to get there is the easiest, quickest thing ever.
I found that it's a lot better to use coconut cream that coconut milk. You won't have to whip as long as if you were using coconut milk. That's the key to a perfect whipped cream, how much and how well you mix it. So is great to get a bit of a head start.
Coconut cream already has a sweet hint without us adding much to it. But to enhance the already amazing flavour we will add a tablespoon of maple syrup and a teaspoon of vanilla extract. If you prefer a sweeter cream you can always tweak the recipe a bit and ad more syrup.
There is a little trick to get the perfect texture on this vegan whipped cream. Aside from getting your whipping game really strong, you will have to put the ingredients in the freezer for 10 minutes before you mixed them all together.
Once the cream is cool enough you can put it all in a mixer and get it going until you get the right consistency. If you don't have an electrical mixer don't worry! You can also use a whisk and put those arms to work.
If you are wondering what the right consistency is, well look for the peaks. If you stick the whisk or a spoon in the cream and lift it up, you should see a peak forming under it. Check how you are going along the way so you are able to get it just right, not too much not too little!
