Some people say you can't have it all, but with this Garam Masala Wrap, you certainly can. We are fusing the best of Mexican and Indian cuisine to make an absolute delight. Lunch will never be the same once you give these wraps a try.
Fusion cuisine is such a big thing now that globalisation is taking over. This big cultural crossover opens the door to all these new avenues we can explore. Personally, I will always love traditional cooking but I also value the idea of taking elements from different cultures to create something new and unique.
With that said, today, we are getting into some fusion cuisine. This is a Mexican recipe with an Indian twist, or you could also call it an Indian dish with Mexican elements. Either or, this Garam masala wrap recipe is fun, delicious and super easy to make.
Wraps are one of my favourite things from Mexican cuisine. It's the perfect lunch option that you can quickly put together, it is easy to take with you without having to worry too much about making a mess, and there are so many different ways to make a good wrap.
The wraps that we are making today are packed with everything you need for a well-rounded meal. You will find a bunch of veggies, green salad, smoked tofu, a bit of olive oil and a delicious sauce.
The sauce will give us the Indian element to make this a Mexican-Indian fusion dish. That little extra touch will blow your mind, well more like your taste buds. It's the easiest thing to prepare and it has a ton of flavour. We will mix soy yogurt with tamari sauce and some garam masala. As simple as that!
Garam masala is such a great thing to have in the kitchen. I used to think I could only use it in curries but there is so much more to it. It is pretty much as any other seasoning you would normally use.
You can use garam masala for anything you can come up with, from soups to desserts to side dishes. There are people that even stir it in coffee for an added kick of flavour, I guess it is something like a dirty chai. I haven't tried that yet but I'm definitely intrigued.
Garam masala is easy to find at most supermarkets. You can always go the extra mile and make your own blend. You just need to mix some spices and if you happen to have an Indian store close by they sometimes have all the ingredients ready for you to just mix.
The benefit of making your own garam masala from scratch is that you get really rich and unique flavours in your meal. Garam masala will lose its potency over time so when you use freshly ground spices you will get the full on experience.
I think Mexican and Indian food go great together. I will definitely try to make more fusion recipes after seeing how incredibly delicious this garam masala wrap turned out.
