We had something exciting happen in our house recently. Our little boy had his first grapefruit smoothie. And he loved it. Being a smoothie fanatic, this absolutely made me the happiest mum on the planet. He had been so engrossed in watching me make smoothies for this site, he wanted to not only try the smoothie, but he also wanted to help make them.
So off we went, throwing some of his favorite fruits in to the blender and watched him giggle away as it blended everything up. This has quickly become one of my favorite activities with him and he now helps with all of my smoothie recipes. To make this one, we went to the fridge and he pulled out some various fruits etc. After sorting through them, we chose grapefruit, banana, and passionfruit. Let’s take a closer look.
To make this simple recipe, you will need 4 easy to access ingredients and 5 minutes. You will also need a blender and the glass/bottle you plan to drink your smoothie from.
We only have 4 very simple, easy to access ingredients in this recipe. But boy oh boy, do they have some impressive essential vitamins and minerals. Together, these ingredients provide us with a good source of dietary fiber, protein, vitamin C, vitamin B6, magnesium, potassium, selenium, and vitamin A. Chia seeds also contain a good source of omega-3 fatty acids which can help reduce inflammation in the body.

To achieve the best taste possible, I would highly recommend serving this smoothie fresh and consuming it soon after. However, if you do need to store it, put it in an airtight container (or drinking bottle/cup) and store for up to 24 hours in the fridge or even in the freezer.
