Christmas holidays and cranberry sauce go together like peanut butter and jelly! So, for this year's dinner, I have an easy cranberry sauce that will delight your senses. You and everyone at the table will be amazed by the explosive taste in this sauce.
Cranberries are super abundant during this time of year. They are harvested during Autumn and even going into Winter. And that's why they've become a bit of a staple for many of the recipes we make during this time of year. For example, cranberry sauce.
I used to make the cranberry base sauce from scratch. However, this year I'm opting for practicality so I'm using an already jellied sauce from a jar. If you want to venture into making the sauce with fresh cranberries, you can do that too. It's pretty easy.
We are adding a twist to this vegan cranberry sauce. Instead of going for the classic stuff and just serving it straight out of the jar, I decided to mix up a couple of different things to change it around and make it much more interesting.
With that said, we are about to make the easiest yet most flavourful sauce ever. And we simple need jellied cranberry sauce and a few ingredients from the pantry. I already had everything except the sauce, so it's not much of a fuss to get this recipe sorted.
To make it, we have to add all the ingredients to a saucepan and mix them really well, as simple as that. We do want to make sure we have a homogenous mixture in there. And while it's heating up, we have to keep stirring it so it doesn't stick to the bottom.
The taste in this easy cranberry sauce is a bit sweet and a bit spicy. I added a Sriracha to get that subtle kick and some maple syrup for the added sweetness. However, I would say the recipe is not that kid-friendly if your little ones are not used to any spice. The good thing is you can adjust the amount to what you prefer. So, if you have kiddos, I would recommend making it very mild and adding more sriracha later on.
We always have a vegan cranberry sauce on the table and something to pair it with. This year we are making the most delicious Mushroom nut balls you can think of. They go perfectly well together since we have an earthy nutty taste mixed with the sweet and spicy touch of the sauce.
You are going to love this easy cranberry sauce! It's just perfect in every way.
