Tumeric Dijon Mustard Dressing

Tumeric Dijon Mustard Dressing

Finding a good quality, vegan friendly dressing can be hard. It’s stressful, and near impossible at most grocery stores. Before I started creating all of my own recipes, I use to dread going to the shops. I had no idea what I was looking for, how to find vegan friendly options, or even where to start. I often went home feeling defeated with no energy left.

Although times are changing and we are seeing more options for our lifestyle emerge, a lot of people still feel this way when transitioning over to the vegan family. You may still feel this way. That’s okay. It’s normal.

I am here to help! My dreaded weekly shop turned into a fun and exciting event when I discovered how to make my own version of things such as dressings. I want you to enjoy it too, hence why I started sharing these with you all. Let’s take a closer look at what this Dijon mustard includes.

To make this recipe, you will need 4 ingredients and 5 minutes.

In this recipe, we use dijon mustard, turmeric, lime, and maple syrup. Combined, these ingredients give us a good source of vitamin C (from the lime), dietary fiber, calcium, and iron.

Turmeric is a powerful ingredient in this recipe, not only for its taste, but for the benefits it offers. Curcumin is the main active ingredient in turmeric which has powerful anti-inflammatory effects while being a strong antioxidant. However, only a small percentage of the spice contains this.

The turmeric dijon mustard dressing is the perfect dip because it’s:

  • Easy to make.
  • A nice change from the ordinary.
  • Family friendly.
  • Low in calories – 42 cals per serve.

Not sure what to do with left over dip? I know. Pop it an air tight container and place it in the fridge for up to 48 hours. You can then use it on any dish you want. Another thing we love to do (because we don’t like wastage in our home), is to cut up some vegetables like carrot and celery sticks, and dip them. Yum! Let me know if you try it with a particular vegetable, I’m always looking for more dipping treats!

I hope you enjoy this recipe as much as I did. See you soon for another exciting recipe!
